Freya, greatest treasure of Asgard    Freya, greatest treasure of Asgard
It is said the choice of the slain is really Freya's, and she chooses all those who have wives or lovers left behind on Earth. In Freya's realm of Folkvangr, in her Great Hall of Sessrymnir, they are sooner or later reunited with their loved ones to pleasurably spend time as a family again.

Freya's name translates from the Old Norse simply as "Lady". This meant more in that language than it does now in ours. The word was the feminine counterpart to 'Lord' in its fullest sense of power and authority, implying divinity. In the diverse Norse pantheon, she stood forth as an unusually diverse and strong figure.

Freya is in many ways, the natural enemy of Hel. As the Goddess of Life and Love, Freya is the Lady of Sessrymnir, where the noble dead go. Hel is the Mistress of the Realm of the Dead where folks who don't die nobly must languish until the end of the world.

Freya is the sister of Freyr, daughter of sea god Njord. In her sacred sex goddess role she was closely involved in love, courtship and marriage rituals, while the procession of her statue by wagon from place to place was credited with the gift of prophecy, sexual potency and easing childbirth. Her fertility aspect was emphasized by various legends of promiscuity in Icelandic Sagas, especially with Loki.

Goddess Freya is the most battle-worthy of all the Norse goddesses, the equal of Odin or Thor. She fights with sword or axe, staff or magic. As the leader of the Valkyrie, the Choosers of the Slain, Freya presides over battlefields, selecting the most worthy souls to journey to Asgard.
Curvaceous and lovely, Freya is the Goddess of Beauty Curvaceous and lovely, Freya is the Goddess of Beauty
Goddess of love? Yes, but so much more. No demure and bashful Aphrodite rising from the foam, Freya is power and mystery in Goddess form. In every aspect of life or death Freya is there.
Powerful and mystical, Freya is the Goddess of Magick Powerful and mystical, Freya is the Goddess of Magick
In its blooming days, a thousand years ago and more, the Northern shamanic tradition of seidr was practiced mostly by women, called volvas, seidr-wives, or wise women. The volva is often described as being past her fertile years, and unlike other women she has no clan or lineage name. The Seidr has its roots in the fertility cult around the goddess Freya, and the ceremonial form of a seidr séance is quite unique.
Powerful and mystical, Freya is the Goddess of Magick Beautiful, powerful and mysterious - Freya is the archetypical woman
The essence of beauty, Freya is the loveliest of all the Goddesses. Many of the Norse myths involve Gods and Giants pursuing Freya or trying to trick the Goddess into wedding one of them... or at least sleeping with one of them. Being a powerful Goddess, she doesn't put up with that!
Freya is the Goddess of Love and Sex Freya is the Goddess of Love and Sex
Sensuality and burning sexuality personify this elegant Goddess. Freya holds dominion over spring time and the green, growing crops. She smiles upon the earth and it blooms. Freya also smiles upon young maidens seeking to have children with their husbands - the girls pray to Freya for health and fertility. Of course, many women and men pray to Freya for delightful sexual encounters intended for joy - not reproduction.

When Freya was sad and lonely, the Sagas tell us the world fell into the deep stupor of an endless winter. When she found her lost love, Spring blossomed all over the world.
